Tadashi Suzuki will receive the 2020 Thalia Prize from the International Association of Theatre Critics (AICT-IATC) for his performance theories and practice that has had a profound impact on critics around the world. The award ceremony will be presented online at 14:00 CET/21:00 Japan time on April 16, 2021, in conjunction with an international conference on Suzuki’s works. The conference gathers critics and scholars from around the globe and includes participants from the United Kingdom, Greece, Romania, Serbia, the United States, India, China, and Japan.
A rare video message by Mr. Suzuki, recorded in an environment other than the theatre, will be presented as well.
