The Suzuki Company of Toga (SCOT), as part of its international arts programming, will host the “Suzuki Toga Camp” as follows:

 

The program is held in Toga, Toyama, where the company has been based since 1976.  The program teaches the basic physicality and ideas of the Suzuki Method of Actor Training, conceived by Suzuki Tadashi and SCOT.  The program also includes observation of SCOT training and rehearsals, viewing of Suzuki-related films, and seeing performances from the SCOT Summer Season 2025.  This year, SCOT will be hosting the SCOT Summer Season on a larger scale to commemorate its 50th Anniversary since relocating the company to Toga.  SCOT Summer Season 2025 will be held on the weekends during the period of Aug.22 – Sept. 14. 

 

Training will be conducted by SCOT members, under the direction of Suzuki Tadashi.  The main languages used are English and Japanese.  

 

Dates for the program are:

September 11 (Thu) Arrive in Toga

September 27 (Sat) Depart Toga

 

Tuition for the program is 1,000 USD, which covers room and board while in Toga.  Participants are also responsible for their international air travel to Japan, and domestic transportation to Toga. 

 

If you are willing to commit yourself to an intensive training workshop in Toga, please contact us at scot@scot-suzukicompany.com to receive an application form.  The application deadline is April 30, 2025.  We will send acceptance notifications by May 20, 2025.

 

Please note that the Suzuki Toga Camp is designed for actors and directors who wish to learn the training, not for those who plan to teach it.
